Virtualisation tool vendor Vizioncore today released the latest version of its virtual server replication suite. The suite enables system administrators to maintain replicas of virtual machines on secondary servers so the replicas are instantly ready to run in case of a problem with the original virtual machine.

New features in this upgrade include support for NFS storage and failover testing, which enables administrators to test the replica by triggering a failover from the original to the replica.

The Vizioncore suite, previously called esxReplicator 2.0, has also been renamed, and hinting at the possibility of eventually working with open-soure and Microsoft server virtualisation systems, the upgraded suite is now called vReplicator 2.1. Currently the suite works only with virtual machines running on VMware ESX Server.
